NBA Rumors: Are the Clippers Concerned About Blake Griffin Missing Games?

| by Alex Groberman

There was a lot of hype surrounding the Los Angeles Clippers this summer, and justifiably so. This team has two superstars in Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, plus an assortment of reserves coming off the bench that would probably play prominent roles in the starting lineups of a lot of other squads. The hype was understandable.

Unfortunately, the Clippers’ season hasn’t gotten off to the smoothest start. They’re 2-2. They can’t seem to stop anyone defensively. And, worst of all, Griffin is currently hampered by not one, but two injuries.

On top of his hurt elbow, Griffin also apparently came out of Tuesday’s practice with a neck strain. Afterward, head coach Vinny Del Negro spoke about his guy’s multiple injuries.

"His elbow is a concern," Del Negro said (via the Los Angeles Times). "His neck is a concern. But Blake is a tough kid. He'll play through it and give us what he can give us."

The elbow injury, specifically, is something that Griffin has been dealing with for a while now.

"It's a little bit worse," Del Negro said. "It's a little more swelling. He's had that for a long time. But this time it seems to be a little bit more than normal."

Even still, as of now, Griffin is still scheduled to suit up on Wednesday night when the Clippers take on the San Antonio Spurs. Stay tuned, we'll let you know if anything changes.
