The Los Angeles Clippers have decided to pick up their option on Vinny Del Negro. Obviously, that means he will stay as head coach for at least one more season.
Del Negro has put together a 72-76 record since he was first hired in 2010, not exactly an impressive mark. That said, he did have a pretty good season with the Clippers this year, helping them reach the playoffs -- mostly with Chris Paul and Blake Griffin leading the way.
Los Angeles went 40-26 in 2012, but they eventually got swept in the Western Conference Semifinals by the San Antonio Spurs.
To some, this move by Los Angeles comes as a surprise. However, it is pretty understandable that the team decided to retain him, all things considered.
What do you think of this move?
