Playing professional basketball in Los Angeles and being married to a Kardashian is not exactly the most low-profile life, but it looks like the pressure of being under the media microscope got to Clippers forward Lamar Odom on Wednesday afternoon.
Odom apparently lashed out at two paparazzi, according to TMZ, “going into the back of a car belonging to one of the paps, and chucking all of the guy's equipment into the middle of a busy street. He then walked across the street and smashed another photog's car with a metal bar, then picked up all the gear from the street and put it in his trunk.”
Popular VideoPeople were so furious about this Pepsi ad that Pepsi pulled it after just one day. Watch it here and decide if it's offensive:
The video starts with Odom’s exploratory journey into the back of the photographer’s car and does not give the viewer any context for why the Clipper was enraged to the point of vandalism and general fury. It gets even weirder when a female fan pulls over as Odom is placing the stolen property in his trunk, takes out her phone and snaps a selfie with him. She even plays with his hat before taking one more picture and departing back to her vehicle parked in the middle of the road.
Odom has not had the best year in Los Angeles, either. He averaged four points and just fewer than six rebounds per game for an average of 20 minutes on the court, all career lows for the 13-year NBA veteran. Odom was drafted by the Clippers with the fourth pick in the 1999 Draft, and spent four years with the team before a season with the Miami Heat, seven years with the Los Angeles Lakers and a season with the Dallas Mavericks before coming back to the Clippers.
