Everything went right for Rajon Rondo in the Boston Celtics’ 115-111 overtime victory versus the New York Knicks on Sunday, and that includes doing a number on Jeremy Lin. Offensively, Rondo absolutely schooled Lin, racking up an eye-popping 18 points, 17 rebounds and 20 assists. And while Rondo’s points did come on seven-of-20 from the field, that figure is far more the byproduct of the Celtic point guard’s chronic shooting woes than anything that the Knicks did.
Similarly, defensively Rondo clearly got into Lin’s head, and he wound up forcing the young point guard phenom into having one of his less impressive outings. When it was all said and done, Lin racked up 16 points on six-of-16 shooting, five assists and six turnovers.
