Video: Carmelo Anthony’s Clutch Shots Lead Knicks Past Bulls

| by Alex Groberman

You can attribute the New York Knicks’ 100-99 overtime victory over the Chicago Bulls on Sunday to any one of a number of factors. Derrick Rose’s initial rustiness, Iman Shumpert’s fantastic defense, Tyson’s Chandler’s underrated interior presence and J.R. Smith’s lack of a conscience (outside of Kobe Bryant, does anyone keep shooting despite miss after miss after miss like he does?) all played a significant role in the final result.

When it was all said and done, though, there can only be one hero. And on Sunday afternoon, that hero was none other than Carmelo Anthony. With his team in desperate need of buckets, Anthony hit a clutch basket to send the game into overtime, and then an equally clutch basket that ultimately won the game for his squad. He finished the day with a monster 43 points (on 16-of-31 shooting) and seven rebounds.

With a 29-27 mark, the Knicks are now tied with the Philadelphia 76ers for seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
