Bosh On Spurs: 'They Test Your Will'

| by Jonathan Wolfe

Chris Bosh appeared to be in good spirits during the Heat’s pregame shootaround today at the AT&T Center in San Antonio. He told reporters that he’s calm and prepared heading into Game 1 of the Finals tonight.

"I'm a little bit calm now," Bosh said. "The butterflies are a little more of a pre-game thing. This is what we've all been waiting on, another crack at it. I'm a lot more calm because I can do something about it, I can take action."

When asked about the competition he and his teammates expect to face against the Spurs tonight, Bosh admitted that San Antonio will “test your will” as a team.

"They test your will and the trust you've put in your defense,” he said. “It's going to be a test but we're looking forward to it. It can be a little more mentally exhausting, because you have to stick with what you do and trust in the defense, because they get you when you start second-guessing and hesitating after they make a couple of threes in your face.”

Bosh also acknowledged that the Heat are underdogs going into tonight’s game. Miami is embracing the role, he says.

“I like being the underdog," Bosh said. “…we're right in our wheelhouse. I like having our backs against the wall, I know what these guys are made of.”

Miami must draw some confidence going into this series knowing that they’ve beaten San Antonio in the Finals before. But this is a different year, and they’re going up against a better Spurs team than they saw last year. Is Miami up to the task? We’ll find out starting tonight. Tipoff is at 9 p.m. eastern.
