The New Orleans Hornets won the 2012 NBA Draft Lottery on Wednesday night. Because Kentucky superstar Anthony Davis if far and away the best prospect available in this year’s draft, he’ll be the player they use their No. 1 overall selection on. So far, so good, right?
Here is where things take a turn for the weird.

Yup, that’s exactly what you think it is: Anthony Davis in a Hornets hat. Conspiracy! But wait, that’s not a New Orleans Hornets hat. That’s actually a Charlotte Hornets hat. So what does that mean? Well, perhaps Davis realized that his two likeliest landing spots were Charlotte or New Orleans, so he played it safe by wearing a hat that worked in either case. That’s probably it.
Except, of course, it isn’t. Heading into draft night, both the Washington Wizards and the Cleveland Cavaliers had a better shot of landing the No. 1 pick than the Hornets did. Conspiracy!
But really, though…
Cleveland lost a once in a generation player, got the #1 pick. Hornets lost a once in a generation player, got the #1 pick. Up next, Orlando
