NBA Early Season Update: Charlotte Bobcats

The Charlotte Bobcats are a young team that often finds itself outmatched in size and experience. Yet as they build for the future, there will certainly be glimpses of promise. The Bobcats certainly gave their followers a spark of hope when they ended a four-game losing streak on Wednesday with a 118-110 upset win over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. The Bobcats now head into Friday’s game in Atlanta with a more confident mindset, knowing the challenges they must overcome to compete with the league’s better teams on a more consistent basis.

Scott Engel spoke to some of the Bobcats’ key players before and after the victory over New York.

D.J. Augustin is leading the Bobcats with 16.2 points per game, and also dishes out 7.3 assists per contest. Augustin talks about actually stepping out of the spotlight on Wednesday as Boris Diaw and Gerald Henderson combined for 51 points.

D.J. White has been a pleasant surprise for the Bobcats early this season, and talks about how the Bobcats snuck up on the Knicks for an unexpected triumph. White also talks about how he has now become relevant in Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Kemba Walker talks about his pro debut in his hometown and shares some insights about the early stages of his rookie season as he prepared for Wednesday’s game.
