The idea of a college team beating a pro team is always dismissed as nonsensical. College teams boast, at most, five or six potential NBA players. Pro teams are comprised entirely of NBA players. No matter how good a college team looks, it is very unlikely that they could beat even the worst of pro teams on a given night.
A college team could have beaten the Charlotte Bobcats this past Monday night.
Make no mistake about it, the Oklahoma City Thunder are good – but them being good isn’t why they won yesterday’s game by 45 points. They won it by 45 points because the Bobcats are that bad.
Kevin Durant led the way for OKC with 18 points on six-of-eight shooting. Russell Westbrook and Thabo Sefolosha pitched in 12 points and 14 points, respectively. All three played 26 or fewer minutes.
