Kobe Bryant may not have a won championship this season, but that didn’t stop him from being the NBA’s biggest international star anyway.
According to ESPN, Kobe, a 14-time All-Star and 16-year veteran with the Los Angeles Lakers, had the NBA’s top-selling international jersey for the first time in his career this season. Although he has consistently topped the charts in China for six years now, this marks the first time that he's ever led the way in Europe and Latin America as well.
Other notable players who cracked the top five include: Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls, LeBron James of the Miami Heat, Kevin Garnett of the Boston Celtics and Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic.
Pau Gasol, Kobe’s Lakers teammate (for now), had the 11th best-selling international jersey, tops of any non-American player. Ricky Rubio finished four spaces behind him at No. 15.
Last year’s league MVP, Rose, led the way in American jersey sales.
