Jenson Button won the 2012 Belgian Grand Prix with relative ease on Sunday, but that didn’t end up being the biggest story to come out of the event.

No, the biggest story, by far, was the fiery crash that took place not long after the race initially got underway. As Button zipped past his competition to claim a lead that he would never relinquish, Romain Grosjeana and Lewis Hamilton spearheaded a wreck that ultimately knocked four cars out of the proceedings.

After the race Fernando Alonso, driver of one of the four cars involved the crash, acknowledged that it was a frightening experience for all involved.

"You can have an injury in your hand or your head with a crash like that, so I am lucky in that aspect," Alonso said. "I felt a train coming with a big, big hit."

Sunday marked the first time Button had ever won at Spa and the 14th time he’s won a pro race overall.
