Video: Tigers’ Miguel Cabrera Takes Groundball to Face, Gushes Blood

| by Alex Groberman

Miguel Cabrera had to leave Monday’s spring training game between the Detroit Tigers and Philadelphia Phillies after taking a groundball to the face. The injury occurred part of the way through the first inning while he attempted to make a play on a hit by Hunter Pence.

All in all, while folks were checking on him, Cabrera seemed to be doing about as okay as anyone could given the circumstances. The six-time All-Star was eventually taken to the hospital to get stitches and an assortment of tests conducted.
