Video: Pablo Sandoval Destroys Justin Verlander During Giants vs. Tigers Game 1

| by Alex Groberman

This game was supposed to be all about Justin Verlander. He was the best pitcher in baseball heading into Game 1 of the 2012 World Series, and he, the guy with Kate Upton on his arm, was supposed to be the big winner when it was all said and done.

Yeah, that’s not how things ultimately shook out on Wednesday night.

In front of a crazy San Francisco home crowd, Verlander got absolutely rocked by Pablo Sandoval on two separate occasions. That above all else set the tone for the rout this wound up being. Kung Fu Panda would go on to hit one more home run after Verlander was mercifully subtracted from the equation – finishing the game with three total. (He became the first player ever to hit three homers in his first three at bats during the World Series.
