Texas Rangers announcer Dave Barnett stole the show during Monday night’s battle between the Rangers and Padres when he went on a strange, nonsensical rant for what felt like an eternity.

In a span of seconds, the play-by-play calling went from normal to, well, this (as transcribed by Dallas Observer):

A 2-1 game, the tying run at second on a lead-off single by James Hedrick. The go-ahead run is at fifth on what Adams is insisting on calling a botched robbery. What actually happened was his henchman took a piece literally out of...

At which point the powers that be mercifully cut off sound. The weirdest part, though? Shortly after the rant and subsequent deadening of audio, Fox Sports sent it back to the booth and Barnett carried on as if nothing had happened.
