Photo: New York Post Celebrates Fenway Anniversary with “100 Years of Ass Kicking” Cover

| by Alex Groberman

This past Friday, the Boston Red Sox celebrated the 100th anniversary of Fenway Park by losing to the New York Yankees 6-2. On the heels of that, the always fair New York Post decided to publish a cover commemorating 100 Years of Ass Kicking, presumably in reference to how the Yankees have traditionally spanked the Red Sox since their rivalry’s inception.

Of course, while it’s technically true that New York has come out on top of Boston in more games overall, throughout the past 10 years, it’s actually been the latter bunch that’s won more championships. Seeing as the Red Sox are currently busy self-destructing under motivational guru Bobby Valentine (as was on prime display this Saturday when the Yankees came back from 0-9 to win 15-9), though, maybe the cover is a lot more accurate than it was originally given credit for.

Check out the artwork:

The Red Sox will attempt to regain some semblance of dignity tonight when they take on the Yankees at 8:00 p.m. on ESPN.
