It is going to be hard to give Mike Trout the AL MVP award if Miguel Cabrera actually becomes the first Triple Crown winner in 45 years, but it sure does feel like voters are leaning in that direction anyway.
The Angels’ 21-year-old rookie sensation is already the best overall player in the AL, by far, and if anyone has ever made a case for winning the MVP despite someone else winning the Triple Crown, it’s most definitely Trout.
That said, because of how amazing he is, sometimes folks forget how young and inexperienced Trout is, too. Thankfully, his teammates are around to remind us.
