Brandon McCarthy Gets Released from Hospital, Asks Wife for a Threesome

Oakland Athletics pitcher Brandon McCarthy left a Bay Area hospital on Tuesday with his head slightly busted up, but his sense of humor clearly intact.

During a recent showdown between the Athletics and Angels, a line drive off Eric Aybar’s bat popped straight into the right side of McCarthy’s head – fracturing his skull and causing an epidural hemorrhage. Eventually, after two hours of surgery, doctors were able to stabilize the situation.

On Tuesday, after his discharge from the hospital, McCarthy released this statement (via the Los Angeles Times):

“From the bottom of our hearts, [my wife] Amanda and I want to thank everyone who was involved in responding to and treating my injury,” McCarthy said in a statement released by the A's. “We could not have been in better hands.”

While that was unquestionably very eloquently put, it was not McCarthy’s best comment of the day. No, his best comment of the day came via his Twitter account.

Amen to that.

(Kudos Los Angeles Times)
