Darrelle Revis to Philadelphia Eagles?
Nothing like the NFL offseason to stir up a bunch of rumors. We’ve said this before, but just to reiterate, we believe every report that comes out this time of year. You just have to.
There is a ton of speculation about what the New York Jets plan to do with Darrelle Revis. He’s all world, but he’s very pricey, wants more money and is coming off of a torn ACL. The Jets seem to have very little interest in keeping him, so there are a lot of rumors about where he could end up.
Add the Philadelphia Eagles to the list of teams being discussed as potential landing spots for the stud cornerback.
Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer says that there is a rumor brewing in league circles that Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is already crunching the numbers and working on an offer for the services of Revis. And it would make sense considering how thin the Eagles are at cornerback. Nnamdi Asomugha is probably getting cut and they’ll let Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie walk in free agnecy.
Revis is only 27-years old, so it’s not like he’d be a finishing piece to this team. He could certainly grow with this team as they get back to (hopefully for them) prosperity.
But, as with all of these rumors…we’ll see.
