Eagles' Trent Cole Doesn't Think Giants' Eli Manning is a Great Athlete
I was watching this PHL 17 show called “Eagles Unscripted” on Saturday night and I’m wondering if Philadelphia Eagles DE Trent Cole took a shot at Eli Manning. They had this incredibly stupid segment on “which of these would be easier to catch and release?” They then showed a picture of an NFL quarterback and a wild animal.
Cole is an avid hunter, so apparently this made sense to someone in the production department. Cole hardly had an answer for anything of these questions, like “who would be tougher to catch and release? Jay Cutler or this black bear?”
You can see already how stupid this segment was. Cole’s general answers were, “…uhhhhh.”
Until they got to “Eli Manning vs. a deer.” Cole replied, “I can tell you the deer would be a better athlete.”
Cole was laughing when he said it, so he was joking around. But was it half-joking? Considering the rivalry between the Giants and Eagles (the two teams genuinely don’t like each other), it can be perceived as a shot against Eli and his athleticism. It’s not like a deer is a poor athlete after all. If he said a woolly mammoth was a better athlete, then you’d know it was a dig.
Even if it was a shot at Eli, I’ll bet you any amount of money that Eli couldn’t care less.
