Yushin Okami vs. Luiz Cane Set for UFC 150

| by

The UFC has announced yet another matchup for the rapidly materializing UFC 150 fight card, revealing that middleweights Yushin Okami (26-7) and Luiz Cane (12-4, 1 NC) will also be meeting on the card.

A perennial contender at 185lbs, Okami is currently on a two-fight skid after being knocked out by Anderson Silva last summer and then surprisingly being finished by a late surge from Tim Boetsch at UFC 144 this past February. The 30-year-old Japanese fighter was on a three-fight winning streak prior to challenging Silva for the belt that included wins over Mark Muñoz and Nate Marquardt.

The Brazilian Cane will be making his middleweight debut against Okami, leaving the light heavyweight division on the heels of a knockout to Stanislav Nedkov that took place at UFC 134 (the same event where Okami met Silva). Cane is 1-3 in his last four, sanwiching a win over Eliot Marshall between the loss to Nedkov and two straight defeats against Cyrille Diabate and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

UFC 150 is expected to take place on August 11 at an as-yet-unnamed venue in Denver, Colorado.
