Vitor Belfort on Jon Jones: "He's a Great Opponent"

| by

Former UFC champion Vitor Belfort was willing to do what Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and Lyoto Machida were not. Belfort, despite only a few weeks notice, agreed to face UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

The two will meet later this month at UFC 152: Jones vs. Belfort from Toronto. Belfort has switched his training to Florida, where he works with former Jones teammate and one-time-opponent Rashad Evans on a daily basis.

"He's a great opponent. otherwise he wouldn't be the champion," said Belfort, in a recent interview with "I expect a tough fight, but I'll be in my best shape. You can mark it down."

Belfort is also working with Alistair Overeem and the rest of the Blackzilians at the Jaco Hybrid Training Center. He said that it is "a very serious team," and that he "made a good choice when (deciding to join) the camp."
