Video: Ricky Hatton Gets Knocked Out by Vyacheslav Senchenko, Retires Again

| by Alex Groberman

Ricky Hatton has always been an extremely emotional person, so it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone that he decided to retire again this past Saturday. After obviously giving it all he had, Hatton’s undoing ultimately proved to be a body shot from Vyacheslav Senchenko in the ninth round of their sold out Manchester fight.

The 34-year-old fan favorite had actually put on a valiant performance in his comeback bout, particularly when you think about everything he has been through since that infamous 2009 loss to Manny Pacquiao. Nevertheless, when it was all said and done, Hatton didn’t get the fairy tale finish that a lot of folks were hoping he would get.

After the match, Hatton said: “I needed one more fight to see if I had still got it, and I haven't."

Here is to hoping that one of the most memorable boxers of this era has a smooth transition into whatever his next path in life is going to be.
