UFC on Fuel TV: Sanchez vs. Ellenberger went down last night from the Omaha Civic Auditorium in Omaha, Nebraska, marking the promotion's inaugural event to be aired live on Fuel TV.
The event, which was headlined by a welterweight tilt between Diego Sanchez and Jake Ellenberger, drew a live audience of 6,283 for a gate of $405,895.
Fighting in front of a hometown crowd, Ellenberger dominated Sanchez for two rounds and survived a hairy third when The Dream rebounded to take home a unanimous decision in a competitive and entertaining bout that set a new precedent for UFC events from here on out.
All anyone could say following the bout was that they wished it would have been a five-rounder, and UFC brass agreed. So, from here on out, all main events -- not just those broadcast on Fox and pay-per-view -- will consist of five rounds.
