UFC on FOX 3 Press Conference Recap

| by

The UFC rolls out their third fight card for FOX this Saturday, bringing a four-fight main card to the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The card will be headlined by a lightweight tilt between Nate Diaz and Jim Miller, with supporting main card bouts between Josh Koscheck and Johny Hendricks, Alan Belcher and Rousimar Palhares, Pat Barry and Lavar Johnson.

All of those fighters, as well as UFC president Dana White formed the dais of today's pre-fight press conference. The following are notes and quotes from the event.

-Koscheck is asked if the boos get to him: "Nope. Why would I let a bunch of couch potatoes and internet nerds get to me?"

-White explains that the FOX deal is still a work in progress, as is the format for live fights on the FOX networks.

-Koscheck is honest that his last fight wasn't his best performance, but promises a better one against Hendricks.

-White backs off of his assertion that Diaz will get a title shot with a win, since he'd have to be on the shelf for nine months waiting for Benson Henderson and Frankie Edgar to rematch. "We'll have to wait and see."

-Miller reveals that a portion of the sales of his exclusive TapouT walkout shirt will go to his nephew's charity, The Daniel James Miller foundation.

-Diaz talks about the fighting similarities between himself and his brother, points to the fact that his older brother is essentially his MMA coach as a reason why their styles are similar.

-Diaz is asked if he's willing to wait out the nine months for a title shot: "I gotta fight on Saturday."

-"I don't hate the media. Sometimes I'm in a better mood for it. I think you guys are doing great." - Diaz said in a deadpan.

-White on MMA in New York, "It's not if, but when."

-Diaz asked to give marathon advice to a fan: "I hope you're eating organic." *Gives thumbs up*

-Belcher is a little bummed he didn't get any questions, "I'm gonna tell you guys how I feel." Sounds like training camp went well and he's ready to go.

-"What do you guys do for sore muscles?" Koscheck says, "Massage." Barry says, "Drugs."

-White says thee is probably going to be another season of "The Ultimate Fighter: Comeback."

-White hints at a big fight card in January destined for Vegas, Cowboys Stadium or Toronto.
