UFC 147 Round-by-Round Review: Marcos Vinicius vs. Wagner Campos

Round 1: The action is stalled early when Campos hits Vinicius low with an inside leg kick. When they resume, both men get in there shots. After some even engaging, Campos works Vinicius to the wall and takes him to the mat; he moves into full mount in short order. After some brief ground and pound, he slaps on a head and arm choke; it looks tight, but he lets it go. Vinicius gets to his feet briefly and Campos takes him right back down. Campos gets touched by a few up-kicks as he works top position.

Round 2: Vinicius gets cracked with a big right as he recklessly jumps in with a flying knee. He's not out, but Vinicius is able to take top position. Campos is in side control, working for a kimura. Vinicius defends, but isn't out of trouble. Campos remains on top in side control. Vinicius is moving well, trying to regain guard, but Campos is all over him. Vinicius lands a few solid hammerfists from his back and manages to open a cut under Campos' left eye. Vinicius doing damage with up-kicks before the bell.

Round 3: Vinicius jumps into a knee to the body and follows it with another from the clinch. Vinicius is teeing off with punches and knees, backing Campos to the cage. Campos is shutting down, clearly hurt. Vinicius keeps pouring it on and Herb Dean calls it, demonstrating a great example of the standing TKO. Campos falls to his knees after Dean calls it.
