Shane Carwin and Roy Nelson Plan to Make The Ultimate Fighter Very Interesting

| by

Shane Carwin and Roy Nelson have little in common outside of being UFC heavyweights who each want to reach the pinnacle of their sport. Currently, Carwin and Nelson are coaches on The Ultimate Fighter, which begins airing on FX this September.

Carwin, who is working his way back from surgery, was very vocal against "Big Country" as soon as news broke that they would be competing opposite one another on TUF. They were originally set to met back in 2011, but Carwin had not fully recovered from neck surgery.

"I'm sure he will probably test my nerves," said Carwin, in a recent interview with "I'm sure it will be exciting and I know we don't like one another, so I'm sure it will make for some good television."

Carwin is a former interim UFC heavyweight champion. He won the belt by knockout out Frank Mir in 2010, but suffered back-to-back defeats at the hands of Frank Mir and Junior dos Santos after that win and currently stands as 12-2 in his career. He knows that every fight he has inside the Octagon will be a war from here on out.

"Every top heavyweight is in the UFC now and that's what everyone wanted," Carwin said. "This is one of the only divisions in the world where all the top fighters are concentrated in one organization."
