Roy Nelson, Shane Carwin to Coach Upcoming Season of The Ultimate Fighter

| by

A pair of heavyweight contenders in Roy Nelson and Shane Carwin will be paired up as opposing coaches for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter featured on FOX sister-platform FX.

This, the sixteenth installment of the hit reality series will feature 32 welterweight prospects in the beginning with 16 advancing to the competition after the opening night.

Nelson has a huge personality to go along with his formerly huge belly, the durable heavyweight has won two of his last three fights, most recently making short work of Dave Herman to collect his third fight bonus.

Carwin was a prominent feature of the UFC heavyweight title picture, capturing the interim title in 2010 but neck and back surgeries have left him sidelined for over a year.

No word is in as of yet as to when the rival coaches will settle the score inside the UFC’s eight-sided proving ground but with the series finale expected for December it’s possible these two will meet in the organization’s annual year-end mega-show.
