Ross Pearson on Latest KO Win: It's Been a Long Time Coming

| by

Ross Pearson made the long journey through a season of The Ultimate Fighter a few years ago as a competitor. Pearson finished off TUF with a victory, and did the same after a stint as a coach on the show Friday night at UFC On FX: Sotiropoulos vs. Pearson.

The two were coaches on The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes, which featured Team United Kingdom against Team Australia. Pearson dropped Sotiropoulos early before finishing him off in the third round.

"It feels amazing. It's been a long time coming," said Pearson, on the Fuel TV post-fight show. "There's a lot of emotions. There was a lot going on behind the scenes. It feels like the world's been lifted off my shoulders."

Pearson (14-6) moved back to lightweight after a stint at featherweight was unsuccessful. He has gone 3-3 now in his last six fights after putting together a four-fight win streak from 2008-10.

"I've been in this sport a long time and have to keep grinding and keep working," Pearson said. "The division is massive. There are so many guys. I'll never turn down a fight and I'm ready for the next step in my career."
