Rich Franklin Offers Words of Praise for Cung Le

Rich Franklin (29-6-1 NC) knows when he and Cung Le (8-2) lockup next month, he must be alert about his opponent's kicking power.

"What makes his kicks so effective is the fact that he doesn't mind throwing them because his wrestling is so good," said Franklin on Inside MMA. "He may not be much of an offensive wrestler in this fight, but it may be difficult to take him down."

Franklin will walk in the veteran of the two, having made his UFC debut in 2003. He has gone 14-5 under the company's banner. In his last six fights since 2009, he has dropped to 3-3. Le will be looking to start a winning streak. He lost in his UFC debut, but rebounded with a win. Prior to joining the UFC, Le competed for Strikeforce where he won their middleweight championship before vacating it.

Besides the offense, Franklin has his eye on the defense that Le has shown.

"He's a good defensive wrestler and that could come into play for him because he is able to ward off takedowns and breakaway," said Franklin. That's when his kicks become very effective. He has other aspects of his game that are probably overlooked by the masses."

Franklin vs. Le headlines UFC On Fuel TV 6 on November 10 from the CotaiArena in China. It is the first time the UFC has held an event in the country.
