Rashad Evans Offers His Take on Jon Jones vs. Chael Sonnen

| by

Rashad Evans knows what it feels like to go 25 minutes with UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones. "Suga" did so earlier this year, falling by decision.

Now, Chael Sonnen will attempt to do what Evans, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, Lyoto Machida and Vitor Belfort could not - defeat Jones. The two will coach on The Ultimate Fighter before meeting in April when "Bones" is cleared to return.

Evans was asked his opinion on the Jones-Sonnen match during UFC Tonight recently. Evans is also a former training partner with Jones during their time under Greg Jackson's watchful eye.

"I think he can get it done and I think he is going to need to do the same thing: put pressure on him," Evans said. "With Jones, it's different because he is a long guy that can fight short."

Evans has grown close to Sonnen during their time as analyst on UFC shows, but said he was unsure if he'd train with him for the Jones fight, adding, "It's a big opportunity for Chael, and I don't want to make it about me."
