Rashad Evans Explains What Gives Him an Edge Over Jon Jones

| by

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans and current UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones have a long history together. "Suga," however, believes that his decision to leave Jackson-Winkeljohn MMA is what will make the difference when the two square off at UFC 145: Jones vs. Evans on April 21.

"I think I've improved more since the last time we trained together," said Evans, in a recent interview with UFC.com. "I'm in a new environment, I hard to learn. He's in the same environment, same coaches, learning the same thing. I will defeat Jon Jones and become UFC light heavyweight champion."

Evans and Jones have been on a collision course for several months now, but injuries have halted the fight. Now, it appears both men are ready to lock up inside the Octagon in Atlanta next month.

"I see a lot of spaces in Jon's game for a lot of different things," Evans said. "I'm to the point where it doesn't matter who you are; if I take you down, I'm going to unleash my ground and pound on you."
