Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante Planned to Fight "King Mo" at Strikeforce Gold?

| by

Rafael "Feijao" Cavalcante says he was all set to compete for the Strikeforce light heavyweight title against Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal. However, Lawal recently tested positive for a banned substance, ending any talk of the fight going down.

"I would fight 'King Mo.' It wasn't official yet, but that was the talk, but he was caught using steroids and things got complicated," said Cavalcante, in a recent interview with Tatame.com. "It would be the main event on March 3, worth the belt. Now he was caught and I don't know what happens next."

Instead, the main event for the March 3 card will feature Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey in a women's championship match. Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey takes place from Columbus, Ohio, and will be televised by Showtime.

"Feijao" is quite upset with Lawal's actions, saying, "I was surprised that an athlete at his level was caught doing steroids." For now, Cavalcante will wait and see what Strikeforce has in mind for him going forward.
