Boxing champion/politician Manny Pacquiao appears on the cover of Esquire Philippines in October, which will be the country's first issue. Raymund Gutierrez, who co-hosts GMA Network’s Showbiz Central, posted a photograph of the magazine cover (below) on TwitPic and tweeted: “I'm extremely proud to share with all of you the first cover of ESQUIRE Philippines!"

Pacquiao biographer Gary Andrew Poole and four other writers comprise Esquire Philippines’ cover story: “5 Rounds with Manny Pacquiao." Philippine Daily Inquirer desk editor Tina Arceo-Dumlao and columnist Patricia Evangelista also weigh in with their Pacquiao stories, while magazine contributing writers Lorely Trinidad and Oliver X.A. Reyes also chip in.

Pacquiao, currently in Baguio City, is preparing for his fight against Mexican boxer Juan Manuel Marquez on November 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Pacquiao was also featured in the February 2011 issue of Esquire UK in an article about his political campaign, rags-to-riches story and victory over Antonio Margarito.
