Phil Davis Still Thinks About Losing to Rashad Evans

| by

Phil Davis suffered his first career loss when he was defeated by former UFC light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans earlier this year. Now, "Mr. Wonderful" returns to the Octagon this Saturday night at UFC on Fox: Shogun Vs. Vera against Wagner Prado.

While some fighters feel like a loss ends their career, Davis believes he has - and continues - to learn from the defeat. He explained his growth during a recent interview with MMAFighting.com.

"I still find that fight to be a little bit of a milestone," Davis said. "I haven't been in the sport for that long and I stayed with a guy who's been doing it two or three times longer than I have, so it's just, you know, it is what it is."

Davis added that, while a win over Evans would have been a strong career achievement, it's not the ultimate goal, saying, "it's to be a champion."
