| by

Even without a city or a date for the first-ever UFC fight card on FX the fight card to starting to take shape. The event will take place sometime in January according to the UFC, who announced the card and fights on their website today.

A heavyweight matchup between Pat Barry (6-4) and Christian Morecraft (7-2) has been verbally agreed upon. Neither fighter has impressed thus far in their UFC careers and each come into the bout off a loss. Barry has gone 3-4 inside the Octagon and is looking to snap a two fight losing streak that most recently included a second round submission defeat against Stefan Struve. Morecraft most recently lost to Matt Mitrione via knockout and is just 1-2 in the UFC.

As added is an exciting welterweight clash between Josh Neer (32-10-1) and Duane Ludwig (21-11) that is sure to include fireworks. Neer recently returned to the UFC in October, defeating Keith Wisniewski by doctor stoppage second round TKO. With just a 5-6 record in the UFC, Neer looks to make the most of his fourth stint with the promotion. Ludwig has won his last two UFC fights to improve his record to 4-2 but has had troubles when stepping up in competition.

Two solid matchups to open up 2012 on FX with plenty on the line for each fighter.
