MMA News: UFC 142 FX Prelims Draw Unimpressive Ratings

| by

As part of the promotion's landmark deal with Fox Networks, the UFC offered its first preliminary card broadcast on FX last weekend, airing four prelim fights from the UFC 142: Aldo vs. Mendes fight card.

Now the ratings are in, with the UFC's first FX-aired preliminary show garnering an audience of just 880,000. Comparatively, the smallest audience earned by a preliminary card broadcast on Spike TV was 1,045,000, by October's UFC 136 offering.

Other UFC preliminary card showings have drawn smaller audiences though, such as those aired via ION television.

The UFC 142 prelim broadcast featured welterweights Mike Pyle and Ricardo Funch, featherweights Yuri Alcantara and Michihiro Omigawa, heavyweights Gabriel Gonzaga and Ednaldo Oliveira, lightweights Thiago Tavares and Sam Stout.
