MMA News: "King Mo" Lawal Won't Appeal Positive Drug Test

| by

Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal appeared on The MMA Hour Monday to discuss his recent positive drug test for the anabolic steroid Drostanolone. After first saying he would fight the results, Lawal said he has no plans to appeal the decision.

"When I went to Max Muscle, I figured you can't buy steroids at a Max Muscle. It's a chain store," Lawal said (thanks to for transcribing). "That's like going to a grocery store and buying something illegal there. I guess that's the mistake I made. When I looked at the bottle, it just had a bunch of numbers on it. It had the ingredients. I didn't see anything that looked illegal on the bottle, to be honest with you."

Josh Barnett and Hermes Franca have both tested positive for the same substance, which is popular among athletes and competitive bodybuilders. The drug was taken off store shelves in the middle of last year after being labeled "the most powerful designer anabolic ever created," by S-Mass Lean Gainer.
