Megumi Fujii Ends Career on a High Note

Female MMA veteran Megumi Fujii (26-2) ended what might be her final fight with a unanimous decision win over Mei Yamaguchi (10-6-1) from the Vale Tudo 2012 in Japan. The two round fight was scored 20-18 for Fujii.

Before the fight, the 38-year-old said that 2012 would likely be her final year in active competition.

Fujii is an eight year professional who took home 19 submission wins. Her previous fight was a submission win over Karla Benitez (7-4) for the 2011 DREAN New Year's Eve show. Fujii's two career losses came out of Bellator to Zoila Gurgel (12-2) and Jessica Aguilar (14-4).

She has also competed for Shooto and Jewels.
