Marlon Sandro is Looking to Make a Statement at Bellator 81

| by

After dropping two Bellator fights in a row, Marlon Sandro (22-4) hopes to get back in the swing of things when he challenges Dustin Neace (23-18) on today's main card.

"My goal is to close out the year with one more victory [and] to start out the New Year on the right foot," said Sandro to MMA Junkie. "Of course, a victory would be best, regarding my entry into the next tournament in January."

In his first attempt in a Bellator tournament, Sandro was knocked out by current champion Pat Curran (17-4) in the finals. He lost in another tournament final to Daniel Straus (21-4) this past May.

Bellator 81 airs tonight on MTV2 from the Ryan Center in Rhode Island. The main card starts at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. Preliminary fights will stream at Spike.com.

"I try to learn from every fight, win or lose," said Sandro. "From every fight, certain points of improvement can be identified. It's important to constantly attempt to perfect all skill sets. Mistakes are made, even in winning fights."
