With Floyd Mayweather agreeing to fight Miguel Cotto last week, all eyes were on Manny Pacquiao to see who he would face on June 9th.
A shortlist of opponents has been whittled down and it appears the (un)lucky man will be Timothy Bradley.
The undefeated junior welterweight titlist moved to Top Rank in search of the big fights and after defeating Joel Casamayor last November, it appears he will now face Pacquiao.
According to Bob Arum talks between both parties are close to completion to stage a welterweight bout in the MGM Grand on June 9th and an announcement could be made as early as Tuesday.
“It can be difficult dealing with a guy [Pacquiao] so many time zones away in the Philippines, but I feel very good about this and think I’ll be in a position to announce something by [Tuesday]. I just have to get all the ducks in a row.
“I just need a complete sign-off from Manny.”
Bradley holds wins over Amir Khan’s conqueror Lamont Peterson as well as Brit Junior Witter and would represent the athletic, young and black fighter that Manny Pacquiao was accused of ducking by Bernard Hopkins.
