Lyoto Machida Earns Himself a Title Shot, Will Fight Winner of Jon Jones vs. Dan Henderson

Four men stepped into the UFC on FOX 4, with the best performance by a fighter earning a shot at the light heavyweight championship and Lyoto Machida (18-3) came out on top.

In the co-main event, Machida defeated Ryan Bader (14-3) via KO in round two with a right hand.

"I think it was a great performance," said Machida. "I trained very hard with a new company and it was great."

Machida said he focused on his boxing in the fight and when he connected with the right hand he knew the fight was over as Bader went "soft."

After the fight, Machida explained that after he lost his last fight, which was against current light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, that 'The Dragon' is back.

With the win Machida is now set to fight for the light heavyweight championship for a third time against the winner of Jones vs. Dan Henderson, which takes place at UFC 151 on September 1.
