Josh Thomson: "I'm Very Happy with Strikeforce"

| by

The only thing Josh Thomson (19-5-1 NC) has on his mind is his next fight with Caros Fodor (7-2).

"Right now Fodor is the only one I'm thinking about," said Thomson on "I'm not thing about what's in the future, my career beyond this not anything. I'm just thinking about this one fight. People say you take it one fight at a time and I know I'm going to continue to fight for at least another two years."

Thomson debuted for Strike force in 2006 and stands at 11-3 under the company's name. He's held their lightweight and U.S. lightweight championship. In his last fight, in May 2012, he was unsuccessful in capturing the lightweight championship again.

"Right now, I'm very happy with Strikeforce and want to stay," said Thomson. "I'm one of those fighters if they throw someone in front and say fight them, it's fine. It's part of the game to take whoever they put in front of you."

Before he competed in Strikeforce, he fought three times for the UFC between 2003 and 2004 where he was 2-1. At the moment, he doesn't have a preference where he fights.

"I do as asked, whether they want me to fight in the UFC or stay in Strikeforce," said Thomson. "To me an opponent is an opponent. It doesn't matter who he is or what he does. Just go out there, make your money and give the fans a show."

Thomson vs. Caros will fight for Strikeforce on September 29 in California.
