Josh Koscheck was one of many fighters to pick up a close, some say controversial, decision on the UFC 143: Diaz vs. Condit fight card, taking out fellow welterweight Mike Pierce over three rounds of fighting.
Koscheck will admit that he wasn't the most motivated to face Pierce and that, as a result, he didn't exactly turn in a highlight performance. Still, he picked up the victory and it doesn't sound like he'll be losing too much sleep over it.
"Mike Pierce, I knew he was a tough kid coming into the fight, and to be honest, I really didn't have the urge to fight him, because he is down there on the ladder," Koscheck admitted to UFC.com. "It was a lose-lose for me, you know? But I'm down for challenges and I found a way to win. It's not the prettiest thing, but you can't have knock outs every time."
The provocative Koscheck is no stranger to boos, but could barely get a word in edgewise over the chorus of jeering that showered the cage during his post-fight speech. Having had enough, the 34-year-old said it's no more Mr. Nice Guy from here on out.
"To the crowd out there and everybody who hates me, fu** yourselves," he said. "I'm sick of being nice you know, I'm sick of it. You know, I go out of my way to be nice to fans, I go out of my way to let 'em get to know me, and you want to keep booing? I'll keep being a dick. I'm sick of it. You want to come at me, I'll come at you. Don't come up to me and get an autograph from me then. Stay away; don't come up to me. You know, I know I got fans out there, but all these pricks out there in the Mandalay Bay tonight, I'll walk down the street and they'll all be coming over, 'Oh Koscheck! Oh, Koscheck! Oh!' Fu** you!"
Koscheck also revealed during the post-fight press conference that this fight was the last he'll have trained for with the American Kickboxing Academy, opting to leave his longtime home for a self-run facility in Fresno. Saying that it's time to do his "own thing," Koscheck admitted that it "was a tough camp knowing that this was my last camp there."
