Johny Hendricks: I Don't Care What Jon Fitch Says

| by

Former UFC welterweight contender Jon Fitch claimed he took a bout with Johny Hendricks late in 2011 injured. Fitch, who was knocked out by Hendricks in the first round, said he needed the money and accepted the fight despite being less than 100-percent.

Well, Hendricks wasn't too happy to hear Fitch's comments. Hendricks is set to face Martin Kampmann in a possible No. 1 contender match next month at UFC 154: St-Pierre vs. Condit.

"I don't care (what Fitch says) because here's the thing - don't we all need money? Don't we all?" said Hendricks, in an interview with Fight Cove. "You know, I've got two kids, I got a mortgage, I got all this stuff, you know what I am saying? I've taken fights on three weeks notice. It's just part of the sport; you win some, you lose some."

Hendricks added, regardless of Fitch being hurt or not, "I got my hand raised, and that's all that matters. Everything else other than that doesn't matter."

The 29-year-old Hendricks has won four in a row, including wins over Fitch and Josh Koscheck. "Bigg Rigg" is one of only two fighters - GSP being the other - to own wins over Fitch and Koscheck.
