Hector Lombard Rejects Dana White's Suggestion, Won't Drop to Welterweight

| by

Former Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard knows he didn't put forth his best effort over the weekend in a decision loss to Tim Boetsch. However, Lombard has no interest in making a drop to 170 pounds.

"I feel strong at 185 just because I had a bad fight does not mean that I am going to drop to 170," posted Lombard on Twitter Monday.

UFC president Dana White made mention of a possible drop by Lombard to welterweight during the post-fight press conference. Lombard, who stands just 5-foot-9, was unable to unleash his usual high-powered offense against Boetsch at UFC 149: Faber vs. Barao.

Lombard's loss snapped a 25-fight unbeaten streak. It also left Boetsch right in the thick of things in regards to the UFC middleweight division.
