British and Commonwealth super middleweight champion George Groves has pulled out of his May 5 WBO world title shot against Robert Stieglitz with a long standing back injury.
The May 5 date, which was hastily arranged after Groves pulled out of a title defence against Kenny Anderson in March, was heavily criticised by Groves’ domestic rival James DeGale- the current European champion- who believes that he should have been given a first shot at Stieglitz.
