Frankie Edgar Officially Moves to Featherweight

| by

UFC Tonight insider Ariel Helwani confirmed Tuesday night that Frankie Edgar will debut at featherweight. Edgar hopes to have a fight scheduled before the end of the year.

Edgar, a former UFC lightweight champion, was defeated by Benson Henderson in his most recent fight. "The Answer" was granted an immediate rematch with Henderson after losing the belt via decision earlier this year.

The move to 145 pounds has swirled around Edgar for several months now. It was even rumored that he would be given an immediate title shot against Jose Aldo if he decided to enter the division before taking the rematch with Henderson.
