Following a month of seemingly non-stop bad press, the UFC is finally getting some good news.
You’ll recall that Dan Miller, a guy whose story is as interesting and tragic as anyone else’s in the business, had to pull out of his scheduled UFC 152 showdown versus Sean Pierson because of his son’s health condition. And even though everyone knew that his boy, Danny, was born with kidney problems, nobody had a clear idea on his current status outside of the fact that he needed a transplant.
Well, on Thursday, Dan’s brother, Jim Miller, posted this on his Twitter account:
The word is that everything has gone well with my nephew's transplant. Both Danny and my Aunt came out strong. TY everyone for the support

Sometimes we get a little too caught up with the inconsequential aspects of these fighters' lives and we end up forgetting that they’re real people, too. Danny getting his transplant is big news for him and his family, obviously, but on a broader scale, it’s also a huge victory for the UFC and MMA as a whole. When one of their own has his life improved like this, it’s a good day for everyone.
