Cung Le Admits that He Made Some Mistakes Against Wanderlei Silva

| by

Cung Le (8-2) thinks his determination to end his fight with Wanderlei Silva (34-12-1-1 NC) in an impressive fashion may have cost him the win after dominating early on.

"When I saw the injured Wanderlei, rather than continue striking blows and punches, I started trying to hit him with my kicks, seeking a spectacular knockout and did not work," said Le to TATAME. "My coach then said that I was stupid, happens right?"

Le was defeated by Silva in his debut for the company at UFC 139. He was originally scheduled to face Vitor Belfort (21-10) before he pulled out citing an injury. Le is open to the idea of rematch with Silva.

"If I had the opportunity to have a rematch against Wanderlei, of course I would," said Le. "It would be a new struggle, would have the opportunity to start from scratch, including my game strategy. I think it would be a completely different from the first fight."

Le returns to action against Rich Franklin (29-6-1 NC) at UFC on Fuel TV 6 on November 10. Silva lost over the summer to Franklin.
