Could Tito Ortiz Have Beaten Jon Jones Once Upon a Time?

| by

No one has ever doubted the confidence level of former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz. The legend is set to make his retirement fight this Saturday night in the co-main event of UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen II from Las Vegas against Forrest Griffin.

When asked his opinion about current UFC 205-pound champion Jon Jones, Ortiz didn't back down one bit. In fact, in the interview with ESPN, Ortiz believes in his prime, he could stop the seemingly invincible Jones.

"Jon Jones is a great champion, but me in my prime, I was devastating," Ortiz said. "I was vicious. Nobody could stop me. Of course I could beat him in my prime."

Ortiz compared the dream match to that of Ali facing Tyson in a boxing ring, adding, "You'll never know because it's two different generations."
